$3.2 MILLION FOR WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM - Low-Income Homes Will Qualify

A new $3.2 million grant to weatherize low income homes in West Virginia's 55 counties, has been approved for 2002.

The grant has been issued by the U.S. Department of Energy, and will be distributed by the state's Office of Economic Opportunity.

It is a 50% increase in funding from last year.

Energy audits are made on each house, with an average annual savings on heating costs of $218 a year.
