WHERE IT ORIGINATES - "WV Knife And Gun Club"

Every so often we have comments regarding the column Knife and Gun Club, under which we report some of the activity faced by West Virginia police officers and responders related to people being injured or killed by guns and knives.

The "knife and gun club" phrase goes back to the early newspaper days, coined by police, ambulance services, and even emergency room staff, related primarily at the time to Friday and Saturday night action, "Saturday night, knife and gun club."

That's when most incidents happened.
