Welcome back to Beason. We are so glad you stopped by.

Last week I mentioned some issues I had with the Ritchie County school system. Some staff members and I addressed these concerns. Although I will not apologize for what I said, I do understand their point of view. I am also glad they took the time to share their thoughts with me. But, I am a mother and my children will always be first. Perhaps I am over-protective. But, better to be over-protective than not protective at all. So, with all that being said, I hope we all can remain in a neutral mode at least for the rest of the year.

I was really excited to receive my work permit in the mail the other day. It was almost better than Ed McMahon knocking on my door. Well, since Mr. McMahon has passed, perhaps it wouldn't be better. I would have earned a spot on the "Paranormal Activity" show. I would be famous!

The weather has been fabulous hasn't it? I am hoping it will continue through Easter break. It's better to get the kids outside instead of parked in front of the XBOX for hours on end. I am considering taking them to the Pittsburgh Zoo or a Pirates game this week. The only thing I hate about the zoo is when the animals feel they must share some PDA with the rest of the world. Then, I have the privilege of explaining these actions on the trip home. I really have no desire to explain the mating rituals of monkeys ever.

We are looking forward to seeing Jimmy Buffet in Pittsburgh on August 12th. The day after everyone is thankful for my birth, ha-ha. I am sure you all will be rejoicing. Anyway, the last time we went made for a great time. Everybody got along with each other. I did not witness a single fight or any mean behavior. Why can't the world behave like that all the time? I am voting for him next time we have presidential elections.

Have you been to the new Ritchie County Library? It's beautiful and definitely a place where you can chill and read a book or use a computer. The parking is a bit of a drag, but worth searching for a place.

We had a great Easter at my Mom's. She whipped up a great dinner and we enjoyed spending time with her. We hid some eggs and hopefully we found them all before we run over them with the lawn mower this summer.

I have a special event to announce. The Lamp Lighters Relay for Life Team is sponsoring a Bingo on April 9th at the Ritchie County 4-H grounds. The cost is $20 for 20 games. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and the games begin at 7 p.m. Please remember you must be 18 to participate. Please come out and play as the proceeds could help save a life. The Lamp Lighters would really appreciate your help.

Much peace, love and happiness is wished for you for the upcoming week.
