| Linda S. McCumbers, 88, of Nicut, West Virginia, passed away April 3, 2010 at Minnie Hamilton Health System of Grantsville. Born in Calhoun County, she was the daughter of the late Gallory and Ida Cottrell McCumbers. She was an accomplished and well-known musician. Linda and her husband Lester received widespread recognition for their musical talent over a period of many years. She was a Christian. Surviving are her husband, Lester; six daughters, Beatrice Putnam of Arnoldsburg WV, Anna Lee White of Auburn OH, Paulette Ice of Garrettsville OH, Joan Cottrell of Nicut, Sharon Morris of Lake Milton OH, and Tammy Smith of Tanner WV; two sons, Billy McCumbers of Five Forks WV and Timmy McCumbers of Nicut; two sisters, Gladys Snyder and Clara Turner of OH; one brother, Junior McCumbers of Grafton OH; 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Roger McCumbers; two sisters, Snowy Nicholson and her twin sister, India Drennen; two brothers, Willis and Bernard McCumbers; and one grandson, Marshall Putnam. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Interment will be in the Mount Run Cemetery at Nicut. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. |
