SETH DENMARK BOUND OVER FOR GRAND JURY CONSIDERATION - Bullet Recovered From Shooting Incident

(04/01/2010)
A kidnapping charge against William Seth Denmark, 22, was transferred yesterday from magistrate court to Calhoun Circuit Court.

Denmark is charged with kidnapping Veronica Cottrill and allegedly holding her at gunpoint while Denmark buried the body of David Wayne Beach, according to a criminal complaint filed by lead investigator Cpl. Doug Starcher of the WV State Police in Grantsville.

Denmark appeared before magistrate Rick Postalwait, who ruled on probable cause regarding the complaint.

The case will likely be presented to the May grand jury.

Denmark, in another incident, allegedly shot Jesses Run resident Aaron Lloyd four years ago, according to the criminal complaint.

Denmark and David Beach, the complaint says, apparently walked from the Denmark farm on Beech to Jesses Run, shooting Lloyd in the leg.

Lloyd likely sought medical treatment at the time, with the bullet left in his body.

While the current Denmark case was breaking, with police using a search warrant for the Denmark farm, Lloyd reportedly became ill with skin eruptions, and went to Roane General Hospital.

The bullet from the 2006 incident was removed by a physician, and turned over to authorities.

Both of Denmark's parents have been charged with crimes related to the alleged kidnapping of Cottrill and the shooting of Lloyd.
