ANNUAL ANTIQUES APPRAISAL CLINIC - April 10 At Parkersburg's Blennerhassett Museum

(03/31/2010)
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - Have you ever wondered the values of family heirlooms like Grandfather's pocket watch or the marble mantle clock or any other treasured items? How much is the rocker purchased at a local store worth? You can find out as the Friends of Blennerhassett sponsor the 16th annual Antiques Appraisal Clinic at the Blennerhassett Museum on Saturday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"These are similar questions we ask ourselves each time we clean our attics, garages, and closets and find old pictures, quilts, glassware, tables, or maybe an old letter," according to special events coordinator Pam Salisbury. "Everyone generally has some treasure and wonders how much it is worth."

The Blennerhassett Museum is located at the corner of 2nd and Juliana streets in downtown Parkersburg.

Jeff Spear of Riverview Antiques in Marietta, Ohio, will evaluate your family heirlooms, antiques, collectibles, garage sale finds, and other treasures. The cost for the appraisal is $5 per item. There is a limit of four items per person. If you wish to have a gun appraised it must in an enclosed case, unloaded and with no ammunition. Jewelry and musical instruments are excluded from being appraised.
