Jim Hughes, 61 - Looneyville

Jim Hughes, 61, of Looneyville, West Virginia, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at his home.

He was born December 31, 1948 at Spencer a son of Marceline M. Romine Hughes of Looneyville and the late John Monzell Hughes.

Jim was a truck driver. He had worked for General Pipeline, White and Keaton Timber Co., Carl Smith and DePue Oil Co. Jim was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Roane County Farm Bureau. Over the years, he enjoyed farming, raising cattle, fishing, blue grass music and coaching soft ball teams.

In addition to his mother survivors include two daughters, Lora Matheney and Julie Miller both of Spencer; one son, Joe Hughes of Parkersburg; one brother, John Hughes of Williamstown; one sister, Janet Hughes of Williamstown; two grandchildren, Jade Hughes and Lila Miller.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Daniel R. "Danny" Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
