WESTBORO BAPTIST HATE GROUP RETURNING TO WV - Sago Memorial Signs Read 'Thank God For Dead Miners'

(04/03/2010)
One of the nation's most infamous hate groups is returning to West Virginia to picket.

The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas is known for holding signs proclaiming anti-gay slogans, picketing military funerals and stomping on the American flag.

They appeared at a 2006 Sago mine disaster memorial in Buckhannon honoring the victims, claiming miners were "fagot lovers."

The group has announced 11 places in Charleston and Wheeling they plan to protest in April.

During the Sago mine disaster, they held signs that read, "Thank God for dead miners."

The Church is listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a general hate group. The picketing schedule is listed on their web site.
