Welcome back.

I believe spring has arrived on Beason. I can't get enough of this great weather or the sound of the peepers in the evening. My daffodils and crocuses have also bloomed. The dog has been forewarned that he is guardian of my flower beds. So, if some large, furry animals get in the yard, he has a job to do. Although he isn't much for anything other than sleeping all day and barking all night. I may have to glance over his file and note all of his "sleeping-on-the-job" habits to prepare for his yearly evaluation. So far, no raises in the future for him.

Avery had a really fun birthday party at the skating rink on the 20th. I had forgotten how fun it was to roller-skate. I hadn't been on skates for years. I felt sure I was going to cause my son great stress if I fell down. But, he was able to breathe some relief because Mom stayed on her feet the whole time! I think everyone had a great time (or at least I did) we would like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

I am about ready to rip my hair out over this internet service we have at the house. I hate having to spend so much to be able to keep in contact with the real world when I need to. I try not to make it a habit to be in the real world, but, when I am, I need the 'Net. It's crazy to have one company that might install a satellite if (and that's a big IF) you have a view of a clear sky, if you have extra money for those hidden fees and if you have some beach property that they could hold for ransom if they felt necessary.

I may have to endure the drama as I know they are using the internet more and more at school. I am not quite sure of how much I approve of that. It has been brought to my attention; some kids have been able to access Facebook and MySpace while at school. I don't even let my kids do that at home. So, are they really doing school-related activities or are they networking? My children are too young to be "social" and are at school for necessary education. They are most certainly not there to be educated on what kind of background to be on their myspace.

Ethan is really excited to go with the band to have their "ratings". I am so glad he is feeling so confident about it. The band is really great and I am sure they will do well. I remember being scared to death when our band had to do "ratings". We knew it would be an awfully long bus ride back if we didn't fare very well.

T-Ball will be in "full swing" on Tuesday night. Avery is chomping at the bit to get started. I have been nominated for the position of "bench mom". I am pretty sure I will have parents either really appreciating me or really hating me. Hopefully, there won't be any drama that we can't put a stop to. I am so not looking forward to Little League next year. I can't stand the drama and the questionable coaching policies. I spent too many years dealing with that to want to involve my child into it again. But, I know Avery will never let me live it down if I did not allow him to play. However, I will never again tolerate what I endured for a couple years. I'm tired of keeping my mouth shut and I guarantee I won't next year. So, everyone is now forewarned.

Have a wonderful week.
