SPRING THAW CREATES BIG BLUEGRASS TURN-OUT ON 'FORK'

(03/15/2010)

Rocky Branch Bluegrass with Bill Greathouse and The Hillbilly
Stompers played to a large crowd at Chloe Saturday night

Folks came out in a drove to "Bluegrass Saturday Night" at the Upper West Fork Park at Chloe Saturday night.

Most said they had tired of being couped-up during the long winter, and really needed to get out of the house and enjoy themselves.

The last patch of snow had faded from the landscape, with the county experiencing an old-fashioned winter, after snow being on the ground since before Christmas.

Sound-man Allen Swisher keeps things in tune. Grantsville
visitors Mary Umstead and Marilyn Beecher enjoy the event.

Community building packed for a Spring break

While Spring officially begins Saturday, there will likely be some more snowfalls.

Rocky Branch Bluegrass with Bill Greathouse and The Hillbilly Stompers provided the entertainment, with regional residents reliving what used to be the Saturday night dance.

The weekly event is free to the public.
