Last Sunday was a very special day in the life of Howard Williams. He was ordained a deacon in his home church, Brooksville Baptist Church.

The March 7th service began in the church sanctuary with many family members, friends, members of Brooksville church, with other ordained deacons and pastors from area churches in attendance.

The ordination sermon was preached by Pastor Fred Basnett, Jr, a former member of Brooksville Baptist Church, and friend of Howard's.

The service was led by Pastor C.W. 'Mac' McDonald, who also administered the charges to Howard, his wife Joyce, all family members present, and the congregation of his home church.

Following the charges, the custom of laying on of hands was observed, with all attending deacons and pastors being asked to participate.

At the close of the service the right hand of fellowship was extended by all present. Following the service a reception was held in the Family Life Center.
