UPDATED: MAN INJURED IN CLAY CAR WASH EXPLOSION

(03/04/2010)
A Clay County man, identified as Montana Legg, was injured this morning following an explosion at a car wash at Bickmore.

Legg, who was injured by debris, was life-flighted following the incident, but later released.

At least two walls of the car wash collapsed, according to WSAZ-TV, with concrete blocks falling on the injured mans truck.

A witness described the explosion as a flash fire that put itself out.

A WV Fire Marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the explosion, while local sources said it appeared to b linked to natural gas.

The car wash owner said someone had broken into the machines the previous night.

Officials have learned that a gas heater was stolen from the car wash utility room, but the gas was left on, which could have caused the explosion.
