GASSAWAY MAN REMAINS "SERIOUS" AFTER SUNDAY CRASH - Services Pending For Calhoun Woman

A Gassaway man, Walter Jack, 59, remains in serious condition at Charleston Area Medical Center following a head-on collision on U.S. 33-119 Sunday at Leatherbark, Calhoun County.

Jack was the driver of a pick-up truck which crashed with a van that killed Virginia Pauline Osterhoudt, 48. of Chloe. Ms. Osterhoudt's husband, Douglas, and her young granddaughter, are listed in satisfactory condition at Charleston Area Medical Center.

The cause of the accident (SEE Hur Herald story 3/18/2002) has not been determined.
