CRITTER DINNER SLOWED BY SNOWSTORM - "Big Ol' Groundhog, Greasy And Fat"

The 19th annual Bear Fork Hunt Club Critter Dinner undoubtedly had the smallest attendance ever, with a major snow storm sweeping across the area and a number of the members without electric. "I guess the die-hards got here," said President Charles McKown. The Bear Fork Hunt club has deep roots going back over 100 years to a primitive section of woods located in three counties. Read "Tales of Bear Fork" under People, Humor and History." Saturday night's guests enjoyed the dinner, although the musicians canceled. The meal included bear and rattlesnake meat. The menu read: "Big ol' groundhog, greasy and fat, Polecats thighs, rattlesnakes eyes, Is this a hot dog, or a muskrat?"
