Vera Burnside Murphy, 92 - Chloe

Vera Burnside Murphy, 92, of Chloe, West Virginia, passed away February 4, 2010 at her home following a long illness.

She was born September 17, 1927 at Hallsburg, a daughter of the late Deckard and Verna Tanner Burnside.

I addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Murphy; 3 sons, Roy (Buddy), Garrison, and Gene; and 1 daughter, Frances Sue.

Surviving are 2 sons, Tex Murphy (Pat) and Burton Murphy (Carolyn) all of Chloe; 4 daughters, Gloria of Chloe, Pat (Larry) of Frametown, Cindy (Tom) of Gassaway, and Reva (Steve) of Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Mary of Chloe; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and a special friend, Mary Watkins.

Mrs. Murphy was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 9 at the Nebo Baptist Church. Rev. Dewey Tanner will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Stump Funeral Home of Arnoldsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
