PINEWOOD DERBY WINNERS ANNOUNCED - Local Pack Places Second In District Fundraiser

Twelve members of the local Cub Scout Pack 436 held their annual Pinewood Derby on, January 28.

The annual event is an opportunity for the boys to work on a project with their family.

The top 3 winners took home trophies, and each participant received a patch and a certificate.

The pack will also participate in the 38th Annual Davis Anderson Memorial Pinewood Derby to be held at Grand Central Mall in Parkersburg on February 6th.

Cub Scout Pack 436 recently finished their annual popcorn sales fundraiser. All boys participated and the group finished up as the 2nd place pack in the Little Kanawha District with over $4,500 in sales.

The top three salesmen for Pack 436, earning $25, $15 and $10 rewards respectively, were, Houston Bennett, 1st; Alec Richards, 2nd; and Eli Stump, 3rd.

Houston Bennett, son of J.R. and Amy Bennett, was also the top Little Kanawha District seller for the 2nd year in a row. He received extra rewards including a $50 gift certificate to Walmart and a trophy.
