UNEMPLOYMENT CONTINUES TO RISE - Regional Counties Fare Worst

(01/26/2010)

Unemployment figures are based on individuals currently receiving unemployment, which likely lends to Calhoun and other regional counties numbers spiking with seasonal workers layed-off from construction and the oil and gas field.

Nationally, the numbers are rising above 10%, with Ohio at 12%.

Opponents of the unemployment statistical system, used by the government for many years, believes that the number of unemployed is much higher, maybe 16-18%.
