Beating the odds, Glenville State College's Pioneers (3-8, 2-4) defeated Wheeling Jesuit (7-3, 4-1) Monday night 86-78.

Despite poor shooting throughout the game, hitting only 38-percent of their two-point attempts in the second half, Wheeling initially controlled the court and held the lead.

Sparked by a three-pointer, GSC began a 13-0 run at just under the nine minute mark, closing out the half 36-29.

Big man Gabe Gibbs (left) controlled the paint Monday
night, scoring 17 in the process. Sometime aerialist
Marcus Catney (right) who can sail whether shooting or
passing, hits this shot just inside the 3-point line.

The Cardinals eventually lost their composure as they attempted to regain the lead by sometimes wild 3-point attempts, hitting only 5 of 16.

GSC's Nick Dent (01) led all scorers with 27 on the night. Almost half were from the free-throw line.

Three other Pioneers were in double-figures: Gabe Gibbs (05) nailed 17, Aaron Dobson (23) had 13 and Dusty Mullins (03) had 10.

Nick Dent scores a pair of his 27
points on this drive straight up the lane.
