CONTRACTORS MOVING CIVIL SUIT AGAINST ENGINEER AND MT. ZION PSD - Alleging Bid Interference

(01/08/2010)
"Cases are moving forward," in civil actions against the Mt. Zion PSD and project engineer Jim Hildreth of Spencer, according to Kelly Morgan, representing Ronald Lane Inc. and Welding Inc.

Both contractors are claiming bid interference by Hildreth.

"The initial complaints have been filed, the beginning of litigation," Morgan told the Herald yesterday.

"My understanding is that the project is on hold because of the litigation," she said.

The Mt. Zion PSD has reportedly been told by USDA officials that the $5.2 water project will be put on hold until the legal problems are cleared.

It appears that the project will then have to be re-bid.

A Mt. Zion PSD board meeting is set for Monday at 6 p.m. at the Arnoldsburg Community Building.
