CLAY MAN CHARGED IN WEBSTER MURDER

A Clay County man, Lorenza Carte, 33, has now been charged in the murder of Camden-on-Gauley resident Jason Lawson. The complaint says Kenneth Michael Martin, 35, of Cowen, gave Lawson a key to his home so that Lawson and Carte could go into the house. Martin, according to the complaint, wanted the men to tie up and rob Emmanuel Martin Jr. who was staying in the home. Lawson and Carte went to the home on December 17, 2009, with the intent to rob Martin Jr., when Martin Jr. stabbed Lawson. Emmanuel Martin Jr. was previously charged in the murder.
