| Constance L. Smith, 65, of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Stafford Medical Center, Stafford, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Anonsen. Survivors include her husband, Frederick J. Smith of Fredericksburg; her mother, Bonnie B. Adams of Partlow, VA; brother, Donald Kenneth Adams of Partlow; sister, Donna Sue Gomez of Spotsylvania VA; nephew, Danny E. Gomez, Jr. of Spotsylvania; niece, Renee Adams of Partlow; niece by marriage, Jennifer D. Johnson; great nephew, Danny E. Gomez III; and great nieces, Candace M. and Carrie A. Gomez. Connie was born November 2, 1944 in Calhoun County, West Virginia. She graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1963. At the age of 20 she moved to the Washington, DC area and began her federal government career with the FBI. She spent her entire career in the FBI Identification Division where she retired with 30 years service. After retirement, Connie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved planning and cooking for all family gatherings, especially during the holiday season. She enjoyed reading and collecting Civil War memorabilia. She always looked forward to trips back to West Virginia to visit family and friends, especially her aunt Eva Swisher and her dear friends Ike and Kathy Morgan of Mannington, WV. Connie's family has lovingly brought her back home to West Virginia for the last time. Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, WV, with Interment at Goodnight Cemetery, Big Bend, WV. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
