ST, ALBANS MOTHER FOUND DEAD - Police are investigating the death of a woman found dead Monday in St. Albans.

the victim's father called 911 and reported he had found Stacie Smith, 32, dead in her home.

Smith's 3-year-old son was found with her body, but he was not harmed, according to police.

Police are questioning a number of suspects.

Few details regarding the murder have been released.

GUN PART OF DOMESTIC DISPUTE - The Preston County Sheriff's Department has arrested a Kingwood man following a domestic dispute.

Jeffrey John Swope, 33, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, brandishing the firearm, domestic assault, and obstructing an officer.

The domestic dispute involved a .22 caliber firearm.

Swope hid behind an SUV in a neighbor's driveway when police arrived.

Investigators recovered the weapon in the neighbor's kitchen closet.

Officers said Swope had been drinking, and threw multiple objects at the woman.

CLARKSBURG HOTEL ROBBED - Clarksburg Police are investigating the armed robbery at the Sleep Inn.

The male suspect was carrying a black handgun.

The employee gave an unknown amount of cash, and the suspect fled.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid to late 30's. He was wearing a heavy, black jacket, black gloves, and a black ski mask at the time of the incident.
