Dawn J. Johnson, 71, of Washington, West Virginia, passed away December 26, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.

She has been on dialysis since "Ox" Johnson, her late husband, well-known to Calhoun residents for his contribution to the local athletic program, passed away 4 and 1/2 years ago.

She was born March 31, 1938, in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Herman and Gladys Cooper Satterfield.

She is survived by three daughters, Linnie Johnson, Luinna Sherwood and Larene "Sweet Pea" Johnson, all of Washington, WV; one granddaughter, Abigail Sherwood; and one sister, Linda L. Skaggs of Grand Junction, Colorado.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee "Ox" Johnson; a daughter, Linda Johnson; and her son-in-law, Gary Sherwood.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Rob Collins officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in the Johnson family cemetery in Calhoun County at the family's convenience.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
