WOMAN SHOT BY WIRT STATE POLICE AFTER SWORD ATTACK

A Wirt County woman was shot Sunday night by a state trooper after he was reportedly attacked by her with a sword. Glenna Westfall, 39, is in a Parkersburg hospital, the extent of her injuries or condition is unknown. The trooper responded to an address at the intersection of Caltrider Lane and State Rt. 14. The trooper, according to early reports, shot the woman twice when she came at him with a sword. The officer then called 911 for an ambulance and assistance.
