Local authorities are investigating several breakings and entering, including the entry of coin-operated soft drink machines. Calhoun Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee said machines were entered at Tanner's Used Cars and the Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department, in addition to the Pit Stop at Mt. Zion.

Grantsville Police Chief Charles McCroskey reported the breaking and entering of two Grantsville establishments, the Red Brick and Odds and Ends. A few weeks ago thieves broke into the local VFW Post.

Vandals also broke the windshield of a fire truck at the Arnoldsburg Fire Department.

"Charges will soon be filed in a case involving the stealing of several items from an area residence," said Ballengee. "We have leads on some of the other incidents."

Ballengee said if any one has information regarding these incidents, please notify authorities.
