BYRD ANNOUNCES $19.5 MIL FUNDING NEW RIPLEY-SPENCER ARMORY

Sen. Robert Byrd has announced more than $95 million in West Virginia military construction projects.

The construction will take place during the coming fiscal year through passage of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill.

The bill awaits President Obama's signature, and includes a new $19.5 million Armed Forces Readiness Center serving Spencer and Ripley, to be built near Ripley.

The armory at Spencer is slated to be closed, its' future use is uncertain.
