The first 2009-2010 Saturday Fun and Learning Day sponsored by Heads Up and GEAR UP was held Saturday, October 30th at Calhoun Middle-High School with breakfast served to all participants.

The day was a Halloween theme with lots of children and their parents dressed for the occasion. Children enjoyed several games, piñatas and they decorated cup cakes with their parents.

This Saturday Fun Day had the highest attendance ever with over 325 people in attendance. Parents winning door prizes were, Melany Kettlewell, Crystal Knotts, Sandra Moore, Ron Neely and Angie Robinson.

The Thanksgiving dinner was catered by the Middle School Athletic Boosters. Dr. Lynn Gilbert spoke to the parents about the sealant program offered through Minnie Hamilton Health System. All children received a free toothbrush and toothpaste.

The next Saturday Fun and Learning Day will be December 19th. Parents attending in December will vote on the trip in the spring of 2010.
