Story and Photo by Drew Moody Glenville State College's Pioneers held their own until late in the second half in the home opener Tuesday night against West Virginia State University. With just over 8 minutes left in the second half Glenville took the lead 53-51. Then, as if someone turned out the lights, for the next seven minutes State outscored them 26-9. GSC only shot 36-percent from the floor, and hit just 23-percent of their 3-point attempts. Marcus Catney paced the Pioneers with 22-points; Ryan Burts chipped in 11. WV State's Darren Jones led all scorers with 33-points. Glenville hits the road for the next month.
