GRANTSVILLE ESTABLISHMENTS B & E TARGETS - Vandals And Thieves Hit Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department

(03/03/2002)
Breaking and enterings are continuing in Grantsville. Thieves took money from the Red Brick convenience store on Main Street and a general merchandise establishment, Odds and Ends on Court Street. Chief of Police Charles McCroskey said the enterings took place late Thursday night or Friday morning.

"They broke through a back door of the Red Brick," said McCroskey, and a side door on the other establishment. "We are investigating."

In both cases, change was taken from a register and underneath a counter.

A few weeks ago, a late night breaking and entering occurred at the VFW Post in Grantsville, with money taken from the establishment.

Vandals and thieves struck the Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department Thursday night, breaking into a soft drink machine and knocking out the windshield of a fire truck parked beside of the building, according to Fire Chief Bill Jones. Police are investigating.

Police were also investigating a breaking and entering at a residence at Annamoriah, Saturday evening. Anyone with information regarding the incidents are asked to contact police.
