Clyde E. Stricklin, Sr., 82 - Amma

Clyde E. Stricklin, Sr., 82, of Amma, West Virginia, passed away, Saturday, November 28, 2009.

Clyde was born February 1, 1927, a son of the late Earl and Cleva Woods Stricklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Somerville Stricklin; five sisters, Anna, Ruth and three infants; two brothers, Patrick and Hubert "Mike."

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ledsome Stricklin; daughters, Peggy Moss and Brenda Wagoner; son Clyde Stricklin, Jr.; stepdaughters, Pamela Batton and Vicky Nida; grandchildren, Tonja Prine, Michelle Spears and Chad Stricklin; step grandchildren, Stacy Gilliam and Harrison Bowman; four great grandchildren and one step great grandson; sisters, Maxine White and Mildred Davis; several nieces and nephews.

Clyde enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, family and friends. He served his country in the US Army during World War II and retired from Columbia Gas Transmission. He was a 50 year member of the Clendenin Lodge No. 126, A.F. & A.M., Clendenin.

His request of a graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the Staats Cemetery, Clendenin with the Rev. Randy Whited officiating and Masonic rites provided by the Clendenin Lodge #126. Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday.
