Pine Creek resident Jack Clark, who was injured in an ATV accident near Hur last weekend, has been taken out of ICU and placed in a step-down unit at Charleston General Hospital, according to family members.

Family members indicated Clark has "a long road," but is making progress. He will not require back surgery, at least for now, and is being placed in a brace.

They said, "We're grateful for the outpouring and prayers from our community."

Clark's ATV rolled-over on a remote ridge road, causing a fractured vertebrae, bruised lungs and a broken rib.

Clark, a retired building contractor, is married to the former Lola Marks.
