DORAL W. GIBSON - Formerly of Elizabeth

Doral W. Gibson, 79, formerly of Elizabeth, died February 27, 2002, at the Mark Rest Center of McConnellsville, Ohio.

Born May 6, 1922, at Creston, WV, he was a son of the late Ernest E. and Mamie Fought Gibson of Creston. He was employed as an operating engineer for 29 years with Local 18 of Columbus, Ohio, retiring in 1986. He was a Shriner of Belpre and a member of the Burning Springs Lodge A.F. & A.M. 132. He also was an avid golfer.

Surviving are one brother, Lyle Gibson and sister-in-law, Delorce Gibson of Elizabeth; two nephews, Lyle ''Joe'' Gibson Jr. of Elon, NC and Randall Prince of Marietta; one niece, Sandra Windgrove of Williamstown; and four great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Gibson and Jewell Gibson of Elizabeth and Ernest Gibson Jr. of Palestine, WV; one sister, Edith Prince and brother-in-law, Herman Prince of Parkersburg, WV; and one nephew, Herman Gibson Prince of Florida.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth. Rev. Gladson Grim will officiate. Masonic graveside services by the Burning Springs A.F. & A.M. in the Elizabeth K of P Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
