AES - Title I Teacher

On Thursday, November 19th, the staff and students of AES were treated to a delicious Thanksgiving lunch prepared by our own kitchen staff. The smells of turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, and pumpkin pie filled the air. A big thank you to Barb, Janet, and their helpers for this wonderful treat; and to Mrs. Wade for providing the Thanksgiving decorations.

The second graders at AES have been learning all about Johnny Appleseed. The highlight of the unit came on Friday, November 20th, when they made homemade applesauce. Second grade teachers, Mrs. Hicks and Mrs. Webb, provided all the ingredients for the students, and after the apples cooked all day, the students were able to sample it. Every year, the new second graders look forward to this tradition. That same afternoon, Mrs. Benson's kindergarten class celebrated Thanksgiving with friends and family by having a pie social.

Academic Achievement Awards for the first grading period were handed out to students on Friday, November 20th. Students received the Principal's Award for making all A's and Achievement Awards for making all A's and B's.
