Vere "Buster" Hoskins, 88 - Arnoldsburg

Vere "Buster" Hoskins, 88, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late James A. and Lydia Whytsell Hoskins. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. Surviving are his wife, Iva; 3 sons, Larry Hoskins of Ripley; Bradley (Connie) Hoskins, and Jeff (Glenna) Hoskins all of Arnoldsburg; 5 daughters, Sharon (Greg) Monday of Kenna, Nancy O'Brien of St. Albans, Jeanne Wagoner of Sand Ridge, Cindy (Burl) Cottrell, and Melissa Hoskins all of Arnoldsburg; daughter-in-law, Liz Hoskins of Ripley; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Stanley A. Hoskins and a son-in-law, Gene Wagoner. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, November 16 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Rick Metheney will officiate. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery with Military Grveside Rites. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
