Title 1 would like to say a big thank you to all who helped out during our Fall Book Fair by donating time and spare change. It was a great success. We earned $1100 in free books that will be donated to the school library and given to our students. Thank you to Speedy Mart for allowing us to place a donation jar inside the store and to all of you who sent in money with your students to purchase books.

On Friday, October 6th, the 2nd grade students in Mrs. Moore's and Mrs. Sampson's class set up a stand and sold lemonade to raise money for snacks. They have been reading the story, Lemonade for Sale in class. After they sold their lemonade, they graphed their results.

Mrs. Webb's and Mrs. Hicks' students worked hard on a windsock project this week during science class. They had to choose an animal to research and find out interesting facts about it. The next time you are in the building, you can check them out. They are hanging from the ceiling in the main entrance.

On Friday, November 13th, Title 1 and the Parent-Educator Resource Center will host a Conscious Discipline workshop at 2:00 p.m. in the Title 1 room. Those who attend will learn skills that will help prime a child's brain for learning, encourage cooperation and caring, and decrease power struggles.

Upcoming events:

November 11: Veteran's Day - No School

November 18: Two Hour Delay

November 23-27: Thanksgiving Break
