CHS VOLLEYBALL LOSES SECTIONAL SEMI-FINAL

The Calhoun High School Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Doddridge County High School Monday evening for Section I, Region II Tournament Play. The single elimination, six team tournament included Doddridge County, Trinity Christian, Calhoun County, Gilmer County, Clay Batelle, and South Harrison.

In first round of Sectional Action Calhoun defeated South Harrison 25-7, 25-13, 25-19.

Scoring for Calhoun: Ashley Houchin 17 points, 8 aces; Rochelle Gerwig 8 points, 5 aces; Amber Wilford 8 points, 1 ace; Michelle Hall 4 points, 3 aces; Jordan Mace 4 points, 2 aces; Karissa Reip 2 points.

Setting: Houchin 37/38, 12 assists.

Hitting: Wilford 16/17, 6 kills; Gerwig 9/9, 2 kills; Mace 4/4, 1 kill; Reip 4/5, 1 kill; Taylor Green 3/3, 2 kills.

Blocks: Wilford 3, Houchin 2.

Digs: Wilford 2, Gerwig 2, Brook Manns 2, Reip 2, Houchin 2.

In the Semi Final Round Calhoun was defeated by Trinity Christian 25-21, 25-20, 26-24.

Scoring for Calhoun: Gerwig 15, 3 aces; Wilford 3, 2 aces; Reip 5, Mace 4, Brooke Manns 4, Houchin 2. Setting: Houchin 58/58, 20 assists.
