SCHOOL BOARD EXPELS FOUR STUDENTS

The Calhoun Board of Education, during a special meeting this week, expelled four students.

- The board approved the superintendent's recommendation that Student (2009-10/03) be expelled from Calhoun County Schools until the end of the 1st Semester of the 2010 school year.

The student is not allowed on school property during this time for any reason with the exception of the Alternative Learning Center at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. The student must present the results of a drug test prior to reenrollment. Motion carried unanimously.

- The board approved the superintendent's recommendation that Student (2009-10/04) be expelled from Calhoun County Schools until the end of the 1st Semester of the 2010 school year.

The student is not allowed on school property during this time for any reason with the exception of the Alternative Learning Center at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. The student must present the results of a drug test prior to reenrollment. Motion carried 3-1 with Mr. Harris voting against the recommendation.

- The board approved the superintendent's recommendation that Student (2009-10/05) be expelled from Calhoun County Schools for 20 days to include the 10 day school suspension.

The student is not allowed on school property during this time for any reason with the exception of the Alternative Learning Center at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. Motion carried unanimously.

- The board approved the superintendent's recommendation that Student (2009-10/06) be expelled from Calhoun County Schools for 10 Days to include the 10 day school suspension.

The student is not allowed on school property during this time for any reason with the exception of the Alternative Learning Center at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. Motion carried unanimously.
