OFFICERS FIRED ON — A Huntington man has been charged with 20 counts of wanton endangerment and four counts of attempt to commit a felony after an incident where police officers were fired on Saturday.

Adam Daniel Perry, 23, is housed at the Western Regional Jail.

The arrest came after Barboursville Police officers responded to a possible suicide call. When officers approached, the door to the home was open and officers called out to the man inside to come out.

News reports say the man did come out and laid down on the front porch with his hands behind his head, but then jumped back into the house.

He began shooting with a shotgun through the wall of the house and out the window.

The officers ran for cover and called for backup.

The officers were joined by six Cabell County Sheriff's deputies and a Huntington Police officer.

A deputy convinced the man to surrender and officers arrested him.

STABBING DEATH IN HARRISON COUNTY - The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is investigating a stabbing that took place Sunday at Quiet Dell.

The victim was 61 year old Terry Kirby Lewis.

Officials said Lewis had multiple stab wounds to his face, neck, and chest.

His body has been sent to the state medical examiner.

Family members in the home at the time of the incident were unharmed by the assailant.

Investigators are deciding on a motive, and say the death could have been after a break-in.
