MAN STABBED TO DEATH - William King, 33 of Bradley, Raleigh County was killed after getting stabbed twice, once to the chest and a second time in the shoulder.

Police say King was in an altercation with 33-year-old James Pruitt at the Bay Manor Apartments in Bradley Thursday.

Pruitt is in the Southern Regional Jail facing voluntary manslaughter charges.

Police say a kitchen knife was used in the altercation.

Pruitt, according to police, called 911 himself, and was administering first-aid when first-responders arrived.

MARTINSBURG MAN SHOT OVER INSURANCE STATEMENT - An Inwood man whose wife allegedly shot him after holding him at gunpoint for more than two hours, told police she just "snapped" after he said he planned to remove her as a beneficiary from his insurance policy.

Stephen Kent Slone, 45, of Winchester Avenue, was taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg.

His wife, 41-year-old Flor Demaria Slone, of Kearneysville, was taken into custody shortly after the Wednesday shooting. She was arraigned on charges of kidnapping and malicious assault.

MINER ROBS 'HOT SPOT' - A Morgantown coal miner is behind bars for allegedly robbing the Hot Spot lounge in Westover with an air gun.

The robbery happened Thursday after 23 year-old Eric Wade finished his shift. He allegedly armed himself with an air pistol, walked into the business, and demanded cash from the clerk.

The clerk pressed an alarm and when Wade tried to make his exit police were waiting for him at the door.
