The Local School Improvement Council (LSIC) met at the school Monday, October 12th. Items discussed at the meeting included The Five Year Strategic Plan, safety doors, a playground committee, and discipline.
Title 1 teachers Shirley Chenoweth and Tami Allen presented a parent workshop on Friday, October 16th. They explained to parents some of the different types of assessments students are given including DIBELS, WESTEST, and MAP. They also shared that the assessments are used to find out students' strengths and weaknesses so teachers can meet the needs of all students.
Six parents attended the workshop. The next workshop has been set for November 13th. The Parent Educator Resource Center will be sharing techniques on how to effectively communicate with children and avoid confrontations.
