Bridge, road and approaches covered with multiple
messages
The new Elizabeth bridge across the Little Kanawha River on Route 5 was
vandalized from one end to the other this week, including the approaches,
roadway, guardrails and walls, mostly with profane graffiti naming local law
enforcement officials and generally attacking citizens of Elizabeth. The
State Department of Highways said the damage was considerable, linked to
the cost of removing the painted messages.
