Submitted by Jim Sullivan The Radiology Department at Minnie Hamilton Health System held an Open House in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Tuesday, October 06. Guests were given a tour of the Radiology Department featuring the mammography unit and the new CT Scanner machine. Since Minnie Hamilton began offering mammography services in April 2009, women have no longer had to travel an hour or more to get their mammograms. Patients needing to schedule a mammogram should call the Radiology Department at 304-354-9244 and the staff will mail a record release form to their home with a stamped, self-addressed envelope making it as easy as possible to be seen. Radiology Supervisor Cheryl Balisciano and her staff also demonstrated the precise imaging of the recently installed CT Scanner machine. Ms. Balisciano states the "new CT Scanner shows the commitment that Minnie Hamilton has in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care. Our new machine offers enhanced scans which, in the past, we have had to send patients to outside facilities to be completed. I am very excited at the progress Minnie Hamilton has and continues to make, not just in Radiology, but in all areas of health care."
