BRAXTON PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD DIRECTOR CHARGED WITH $50,000 EMBEZZLEMENT

The director of a Braxton County public service board has been charged with embezzling more than $50,000 from the agency. Bridget Dawn Grounds, 34, of Wilsie, the director of the Braxton Solid Waste Authority, has allegedly misappropriated money that was under her control as the director of the agency. The complaint was filed Tuesday in Braxton Magistrate Court by West Virginia State Police Cpl. M.R. Yost. Without authorization, Grounds spent more than $50,000 on personal items and bills, according to the complaint. She was released on $2,000 bond.
