CALHOUN YOUTH CELEBRATE NATIONAL 4-H WEEK OCT. 4-10

In Calhoun County, more than 70 4-H members and 15 volunteers are involved in 4 H.

The fundamental 4-H ideal of practical, "learn by doing" experiences encourage youth to experiment, innovate and think independently. 4-H programs are offered through school-based, after-school and camp settings and within community clubs.

Below is a list of community clubs. To join 4-H you can contact the extension office, a club leader, or show up at a 4-H meeting in your community! Join today and "make the best better!"

Arnoldsburg Eagles - Leaders, Crystal Brenneman 304-655-7647, JoLynn Wilson 304-354-6634. The Eagles meet at the Arnoldsburg Community Building.

Mt. Zion Cardinals - Leaders, David Weaver 304-354-6217, Kevin Cunningham 304-354-6543. The Cardinals meet at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church.

West Fork Mountaineers - Leaders, Tammy Jett 304-655-7563, Kelli Zwoll 304-655-8093. The Mountaineers meet at the Upper West Fork Park.

Big Bend - Leaders, to be announced. Meeting place is Brooksville Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Pleasant Hill Corn Poppers - Leaders, Jacob McCumbers 304-354-6433, Anne Lacy 304-354-0195. The Corn Poppers meet at Pleasant Hill Elementary.

Pleasant Hill Cloverbuds - Leader, Jan Whited 304-354-6022. Pleasant Hill Cloverbuds meet at Pleasant Hill Elementary.

Arnoldsburg Cloverbuds - Leader, Kristin Garretson 304-354-7884. Arnoldsburg Cloverbuds meet at Arnoldsburg Elementary.

Silver Spurs Horse Club - Leaders, Michelle Cutshall 304-655-7496, Paulette Samples 304-286-2510. The Silver Spurs meet at the Upper West Fork Park, Chloe.
