POCA VALLEY BANK ROBBED IN CLENDENIN - Police recognized the man who robbed the Poca Valley Bank Monday in Clendenin, from viewing the tape.

Police knew Jacob McCoy Samples from his arrest record, and went to his house and arrested him.

Samples confessed to robbing the bank.

Police recovered some of the money at the Samples house.

Samples was arrested in 2006 for robbing the Kroger in Elkview.

Records indicate Samples and two other men jumped the counter at the store and stole Sudafed to make meth.

He is charged with bank robbery and is being held on $100,000 cash bond. The charge carries a penalty of 10 to 25 years.

FAYETTE SHOOTER CHARGED - A man accused of shooting Darrell Crist in Fayette County is facing charges for attempted murder, malicious wounding and eight counts of wanton endangerment.

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler says Daniel Pancake, 52, fired several shots at a home on Morris Drive.

Two of those shots hit Darrell Crist, 37, in the upper chest and neck. Crist is in stable condition at CAMC General Hospital.

TWO STABBED IN PUTNAM - Two people were taken to the hospital after being stabbed in a fight in Putnam County.

Jeremy Stephen Pullen, 22, and Robert Eric Peters, 22, both of Poca, got into a verbal altercation with a third man near a service station.

Both were stabbed with a hunting knife.

The two men were taken to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital for treatment.

BARBOUR STAND-OFF - PHILIPPI -- State police in Barbour County have arrested a man following a standoff Friday morning.

Police charged Thomas Ketchem with two counts of wanton endangerment for an incident that started as a domestic dispute.

They say Ketchem was apparently shooting guns to scare his wife when troopers got to the couple's Union Road home.

Law enforcement surrounded the house and when Ketchem came out just after 11:00.
