The Calhoun High School Lady Red Devil Varsity Volleyball team defeated St. Marys last night in four sets with scores of 25-15, 24-26, 25-17, 25-13.

Scoring service points for Calhoun: Ashley Houchin 14 points, 4 aces; Michelle Hall 13, points, 10 aces; Jordan Mace 12 points, 3 aces; Rochelle Gerwig 11 points, 1 ace; Amber Wilford 8 points, 2 aces; Kenzie Laughlin 1 point, 1 ace.

Setting: Houchin 87/89, 28 assists.

Hitting: Wilford 31/33, 18 kills; Gerwig 13/13, 3 kills; Karissa Reip 9/12, 3 kills; Taylor Green 9/12, 2 kills; Mace 9/14, 2 kills; Kristyn Starcher 1/2, 1 kill.

Blocks: Wilford 2; Digs: Gerwig 4, Reip 3, Hall 2, Laughlin 2.

With the win, the varsity record improves to 10-6. Calhoun varsity hosts Parkersburg Catholic and Gilmer County in a Varsity Tri Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Junior Varsity was defeated by St. Marys 25-21, 25-12. Scoring service points for Calhoun: Rachelle Murphy 7, Brooke Manns 6, Brook Talley 3, Kristyn Starcher 2.

The JV will be in action again on Wednesday, September 30 at Williamstown in a JV and Varsity match beginning with JV play at 6:00 p.m.
