 Karly Eskew hustles to keep the ball in play. Photos by Drew Moody The GSC Lady Pioneers faced Shepherd at home Saturday playing back-to-back 5 set matches in two days. Despite out hitting the Lady Rams (53 kills to 49, and .213 to .146) the Lady Pioneers errors told the tale in the fifth set. Karly Eskew (22) gave the team a 20-dig performance for the series. Erica Hale had 49 assists in the loss, while Jamie Schindel (15), Lauren Saelens (14), and Ashley Dann (10) all reached double digit kills.

Lauren Saelens slides across the floor to make a save. Freshman hitter Samantha Shelton provided a spark off the bench serving 17 times, with 3 aces and no errors. GSC fell to Shepherd (23-25), 25-22, 25-20, (18-25), (7-15).
