| Workforce West Virginia says Walmart Stores has retained its position as the state's largest private-sector employer for 12 years.
Walmart has 12,429 workers in West Virginia, topping second-ranked West Virginia United Health System and third-ranked Charleston Area Medical Center.
Grocery chain Kroger and American Electric Power, parent company of electric utility Appalachian Power, make the top five.
