SCHOOL BOARD WORKS ON GOALS - Arnoldsburg School Will Get New Roof

(09/17/2009)
Superintendent of Schools Roger Propst told Calhoun school board members Monday that state officials had sent a letter praising Principal Karen Kirby and staff for returning Calhoun Middle-High School to full accreditation.

Board members and superintendent Propst met with Howard M. O'Cull, Ed.D., Executive Director, West Virginia School Board Association to discuss board and superintendent goals for 2010.

Superintendent Propst recommended and the board approved that a CM-HS student be expelled for 45 days.

The student is required to attend the evening Alternative Learning Center at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center during the expulsion and will be required to submit certified results of a drug test prior to re-enrollment at Calhoun High School.

The male student is not allowed on school property during this time for any reason other than to attend the ALC.

Superintendent Propst discussed the availability of Swine Flu vaccine to students.

The major overhaul at Pleasant Hill Elementary School could be completed by November, board members learned.

A bid for roof replacement at Arnoldsburg School was awarded to Sutter Roofing for $39,170.

The board approved the Lateral Movement of Professional Administrative Positions Policy.

October 12 at 6:00 p.m. is the next scheduled meeting.
