3RD ANNUAL SALUTE TO VETERANS IS SATURDAY

Legion Auxiliary A Salute to all Veterans, Past and Present is scheduled this Saturday at Holly Gray Park, near Flatwoods, in Braxton County, WV.

The park is located just minutes off I-79 exit #67. The event will begin at 10 a.m., there is no admission charge.

Included in the day's events - the Braxton County Middle School Band will perform the National Anthem. The 82nd Airborne is scheduled to drop paratroopers, and the American Legion Riders will participate.

There will be several displays, including military equipment from WV's Army Guard and WV's American Legion Family. Also museum paraphernalia with items ranging from uniforms and medals to the small items troops carried.

There will be a display of the Field of Crosses; the placement of wreathes and flag ceremony, Firing Detail and the grave of the Unknown Soldier. There will be an Honor Guard vigil throughout the day at the POW-MIA Flags.

Tentative activities include, Civil Air Patrol Drill, an address by guest speakers representing the military, and an Army helicopter landing and display.

Food vendors will be available throughout the day along with musical entertainment during and after the event.

All money raised for or at this year's event will go to "The American Legion Legacy Fund" (for the education of soldiers' children) and the Children's Miracle Network WVU Children's Hospital in Morgantown.
